Getting Started with Luxor Energy

Welcome to Luxor’s Signal Engine guide! This section will help you understand the basics of how to get started with monitoring your energy operations using Luxor’s Signal Engine.

Our Signal Engine automates economic dispatch and high-value ancillary market participation — optimizing your energy assets right from the same Luxor dashboard you use for Pool, Firmware, and Derivatives.

How to Get Started in 5 Steps:

Sign up for a Luxor profile

To get started you will first need to create a Luxor profile, if you haven't already.

Set up a Site in your Workspace

Log in to your Luxor profile to register your energy assets in the system. Click on Workspaces: Energy Sites Setup 1

Click on the Sites tab and click on the create new site icon: Energy Sites Setup 2 Energy Sites Setup 3

Enter all of your site information and click create site.

Configure your Commercial Arrangements

Add your energy contracts to compute all-in costs and track revenue streams. Retail Adders and Transmission & Distribution chargers (T&D) are key inputs for accurate decision making. This may include PPAs, Options, and Day-Ahead trades.

On the Energy page, click on the contracts tab. Click on the create new contract icon and enter all relevant contract details: Energy Contracts setup 1 Energy Contracts setup 2

Contracts can also be created via API, click here for documentation. To view relevant contracts, you can pull them via API as well. By pulling contract details, a user is able to calculate realized energy costs.

Start Reporting Operational Data

Begin sending real-time operational data to track performance and enable market participation. This step requires the use of our API, documentation can be found here.

If your site has existing hardware that records load, such as a recloser, or if you are a Luxor Energy customer for Retail Power or Demand Response, Luxor Energy will assist in posting load automatically to your site. This may involve the installation of non intrusive hardware at your facility. To learn more, please reach out to the Luxor Energy Team here.

Process Site Conditions

Energy facility conditions including all-in energy costs and machine profitability can be viewed through the Luxor Energy Dashboard. However, site conditions can also be pulled programmatically via API.

For Luxor Energy customers, our Dispatch Signal can enable optimized mining based on market prices, while staying in compliance with demand response programs and obligations. These customers will get the most benefit out of our dispatch signals.

If you are not enrolled in an Incentive Program through Luxor Energy you can still benefit from our dispatch signal, which includes all the market pricing needed to fully optimize your real-time operations, however our system will be unaware of any operating constraints or dispatch calls received for your facility. Contact a Luxor Energy team member today to learn more.
